Hello students, parents and friends of Barnard. We are off to a wonderful beginning of school this year. We have new curriculum for math and reading interventions that we are excited to implement for our students. We feel that we are going to see more growth than ever before and at a quicker pace. We plan to grow in our overall health as well this year too! In an effort to be a healthier school, Superintendent Wilsie has issued a challenge to everyone in the the district to walk a combined 1,000,000 miles throughout the 2018-19 school year. This contest will be called the Million Mile Challenge. The Barnard family wants to do our part to help our district meet this goal. Using your fitness tracker on your phone or if you own a separate fitness monitor, keep track of the steps you walk each and everyday. Turn that total steps and miles taken record in with your Barnard student on the days we ask and we will add it to our school's weekly total. We have designed a chart for the students to see and watch our progress.
In addition, we have installed a new website for our school family which is more up to date and smart phone friendly. We encourage you to visit the website frequently for updates and changes to our monthly calendar. It is here you will also be able to see our miles walked progress. Our website can be accessed here:
After arriving at the main site, always visit the Barnard Elementary page accessible from the "sites" tab to get information specific to Barnard students. If you would like to have access to the website on your smart phone, go to the app store and type in Apptegy. When you locate that app, type in Tecumseh Public Schools in the search bar and you will select the district from there. You can set your preferences to receive notifications for weather, school closings, school events and up to date school news.
