Food project serves 25 families

Leadership students were excited to know that their food collection drive provided Thanksgiving baskets for 25 families this year.

The annual food drive project was under the direction of seniors Ty Shields, John Cole, Addison Day and Josie Jared. Students from third period classes were challenged to bring canned food items while the campus clubs were asked to donate certain food products such as flour, sugar, pasta, puddings and stuffing mix.  Turkeys for each basket were purchased with funds donated by each student during the Red Ribbon Drug Free Awareness Week in late October.

With the assistance of the school based social worker, families who had expressed a need through an information sheet handed out earlier in the school year, were delivered a basket by students from the first period leadership class .
