
Vacation reminder - Classes will be dismissed on Friday, March 12 and continue to be in recess March 15-19 for Spring Break. This is Reading Awareness Month, encourage your children to check out a great book or two from their school library to enjoy during the time away. Have a safe and fun holiday.

THS seniors and parents of Class of 2021 students - Graduation caps and gowns need to be ordered very soon. Graduation ceremonies are May 16 (baccalaureate) and May 19 (diploma ceremony) and proper graduation attire will be required. Call the high school main office at (405) 598-2113 for price details.

Parent-teacher conferences will continue tomorrow evening for students in grades Pre K-eighth grade. If you wish to speak to your child's teacher you can do that by phone, email, ZOOM or face to face. However, you will need an appointment so call the school site offices to schedule. Pre enrollment for high school students is also taking place on Thursday, March 11 from 4:30-8:30. Appointments are required.

Tecumseh students continue to shine in extracurricular activities in the most challenging year of school. Congratulations to our middle school academic bowl team who have secured a place in the state tournament. In addition, our THS concert band will compete in state contest after receiving the highest marks possible in music sight reading and stage performance yesterday. We are very proud of these students, coaches and directors who continue to bring great honors to our school system.

Semester tests for high school students begin today. We will administer tests for third and fourth period today and first and second period tests will be given on Friday, March 5. Also -- If you have had medical absences this nine weeks and have not turned in doctor's notes to the attendance office yet, Friday is the last day.

Attention juniors and seniors. Prom tickets are cheap right now so buy yours at the lowest price of the year. They are $20 per person or $30 per couple. Price goes up March 13. Better hurry. Prom is April 24.

Seniors -- Class of 2021 -- The scholarship money is starting to flow. Check the wall in the counselors office on a regular basis for applications. Ms. Poole adds new opportunities every week. There is no excuse to pay full price for college. There are people and organizations that want to help you with the costs. So get enthused and apply today!

Tickets will be on a first come-first serve basis. The online ticket site will open at 12:01 am tonight. Face masks will be required of everyone.

The regional basketball tournament begins today at Heritage Hall. Tecumseh's varsity boys will play Sulphur at 3pm and the girls face Bridge Creek at 6pm. Seating is limited to four reserved tickets per player but both games will be broadcast on the NFHS network.

THS sports update - Congratulations to Jace Frazier who has qualified for the state wrestling tournament after finishing 3rd at 152 lbs in the western regional tournament.

Attendance will be counted for this day and students must log into the Canvas learning platform for assignments and meetings with teachers. All school site offices will remain open but classrooms will be closed. We will return to in person learning on February 26.


Tecumseh students in all grades will return to in-person learning tomorrow, February 22 at the regular time. We want to thank our numerous school support personnel, county and city workers for the extra hours they have put in this past week keeping our school buildings secure and roads safe during the recent winter weather spell. Their work is sincerely appreciated.
